Did You Think To Pray?

Poems of Faith

When times were hard for you
Did you think to pray?

When men turned against you
And you didn’t think you’d make it through
Did you think to pray?

When your heart was full of pain
And you couldn’t seem to gain
The happiness you wanted to attain
Did you think to pray?

When you were as low as low could be
And you wanted to find the key
To make you heart sing merrily
And show you can lead life happily
Did you think to pray?

Did you realize that when you pray
Your heart is turning God’s way
You should be learning to obey
Following His will no matter how the day
Will go or what other people think or say.
Take time and think to pray.

Sunday Praise and Worship: To Your Name be the Glory

This Thing Called Life . . .

SundayPraiseAndWorship--AMP

Please join me this morning in praising our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. Chris Tomlin’s“Not to Us”is a wonderful song of praise that reminds us that it’s not about any of us: it’s all about Him!

Not to us, Lord, not to us
but to your name be the glory,
because of your love and faithfulness.
—Psalm 115:1

Continue to live

The Distinct Dot

Just like yesterday, I’ve another quote for you from Elisabeth Kubler-Ross – again it’s about acknowledging we should not focus on when and how our live on earth will end, but instead focus on making the most of our time while we are alive!

It’s only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth – and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up, we will then begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it was the only one we had ~ Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

I guess when our lives are touched by the death of someone very close to us, we do spend time thinking about our own mortality, and, dare I say, we forget to make the most our of life. Don’t get me wrong, we all need to grieve when we lose someone dear to…

No more tears

The Distinct Dot

There will be a day with no more tears, no more pain, and no more fears
There will be a day when the burdens of this place, will be no more, we’ll see Jesus face to face
But until that day, we’ll hold on to you always

It can be difficult to cope with life sometimes, can’t it? However, I believe that no matter what problems and difficulties we have to face in life, we will be free from pain, heartache, sorrows and problems  and all our tears will be wiped away when we meet God face to face.

So hold on to God, because He can wipe away all your tears.

I try to hold on to this world with everything I have
But I feel the weight of what it brings, and the hurt that tries to grab
The many trials that seem to never end, His word…

“Great is Thy Faithfulness” by Jordan Smith

Faithful Stewardship

ApprovedThis post will serve as a bonus/appetizer to today’s DiM. I’ve already confessed here before that my wife and I enjoy watching The Voice on NBC. What happens on prime time television is rarely something worth discussing on this blog, but I would be remiss to not share Jordan Smith’s studio rendition of Selah’s version of Great is they faithfulness. It may be a bit shallow, but I love the fact that this was not accompanied by an organ.

Jordan Smith – Great Is Thy Faithfulness – Studio Version – The Voice 9

Shorter Version that was aired on NBC’s TheVoice Season 9

Great is Thy Faithfulness (Selah) Lyrics

Great is Thy faithfulness, oh God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be.

Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
